The unconventional way

There are lots of different theories about how to train athletes, some
of which I disagree with. I have my own training philosophy:
Functional movement and strength are the keys to a powerful athlete.
Since there's rarely bi-lateral movement in sports, the total weight
of your bench-press really doesn't matter. As indicated in this Mens Fitness
article, conventional training methods are pretty much
obsolete. Even elite NFL players use functional training to become
better prepared. Here's my approach:

Uni-Lateral Stability

Uni-Lateral Strength

Uni-Lateral Power

This combined with corrective exercise will help you reach your
performance goals while significantly reducing your injury risk.
